Attention: This place may only be entered if there is no red flag hoisted at the entrance. It is an active British Army training area and may only be accessed outside of exercises.
The tanks seen here are hard targets (decommissioned armored vehicles that are used on military training areas for training purposes). Almost all of them are filled with concrete to resist decay caused by the strong weather of the salty sea air. The approximately 57 hectare area contains several decommissioned Chieftain battle tanks (it was used in the first and second Gulf Wars) and FV 432 (it is still used in the British and Indian armies today). There are also numerous artificial trenches and fortifications. You can also see some observation towers on the site. There is an express warning at the entrance against taking metal objects with you.
