Nice pics Scrappy, when exploring this place I was not very taken with it, but would like to go back and finish it off and see the rest off it. Pretty sure we missed quite a bit! Super report (y)

I loved it :) Awesome shots mate. I think the main building is due for conversion, if you've noticed theres also a brand new roof on it. As far as I'm aware the rest of the sites for the cho, they just need a redevelopment company to finish the job off, hence it's in the state it's in.

Half right. There was an urgent works notice placed on it last year by the council because the owner who has disappeared into the wind, decided to do nothing. The work involved gutting the main building to stop any further structural collapses and placing a new roof on it to stop water getting in while they decide what to do with it. As far as I know there are no current renovation plans, it was done purely to stop the building collapsing in on itself because it's one of the most important buildings in North Wales. A small part of the site was demolished to allow easier access but nothing else is going to happen there until a credible plan is put forward.

A small part? Those Welsh diggers need a lot of turnin space eh? ;) Cheers for the heads up Mooks. I'd expect if they've gone to the trouble and expense of putting a new roof on it then there's a future for the building which is positive as it's a stunning place. It will be flats though. Are any other of the buildings on site listed? The whole thing mirrors the old Ruchill hospital in Glasgow. That sat idly for 15 years waiting for a 'credible' plan. It came in the form of bulldozers. Call me a cynic but I think there may have been a tiiiiiny chance that that was deliberate.
